OVERCOMING THE ODDS !
We still do not have the detailed performance results. These will be published as soon as they are available. However, the team results (based on an agreed points system) were announced on Day 2, eventually ! (The mystery is why it took 75 minutes to work them out !) On this basis, the Junior section was won by Betio JSS, in terms of both the Boys' competition (151) and the Girls' competition (150). In the Intermediates, St. Louis won the Boys (145) to KGV (141), and in the Girls EBS (the female half of KGV) scored 161 to St. Louis 157. The Open Division showed the huge improvement by Church of God HS (one of the smallest) due to an influx of ready-made talent and one or two interested, keen, and reliable staff. They almost won the Open Boys. In fact KGV won (140.5), with COGHS runners-up (139) and St. Louis only 3rd. (126.5). (Two disqualifications did not help the St. Louis cause !) Then the strength in depth of the St. Louis Senior Girls showed as they won comfortably (176) to EBS (155).
