PROBLEMATICALLY FLAT !
Although the athlete concerned is female and adolescent, this piece does not refer to a female adolescent with an endowment problem ! The difficulty comes when the athlete is of an age to be reasonably expected to use the 4kg. implement, but her upper body and fingers are not strong enough to obtain lift when her legs are not providing it. The result is a horizontal push.
To give her a target, I rigged up the high jump practice gear. The photos will show the effect in terms of causing her to use a better angle of release. There is much still to do with her technique, vis-a-vis use of hips and general timing. However, I will be happy to use this method again. (It is a similar idea to that of giving long jumpers something to reach up for at take-off to improve the angle of flight.)
