Thanks to kind donation from FIBA Oceania, the Pohnpei Basketball Association (PBA) was able to donate much needed basketballs to the Elementary Schools in the State of Pohnpei. With a mixture of sized basketballs including size 5, 6 and 7 they were ideal for use by elementary school children who are the future of Pohnpei Basketball.

On Tuesday 1st April, Visiting Basketball expert Ryan Burns and State Sport Development Officer Nimrod Half drove around the island delivering basketballs to happy and surprised school teachers and principles.

"It really was a good day, because the kids were so excited to be getting some basketballs to play with at their school. Even at the schools without courts principles said that they will be putting up a ring so that the children have something to play with" said Mr Burns.

With each school receiving at least 2 new basketballs the skills of the young basketballers will no doubt be improving.
