Teams gear up for National U22 Basketball Championships

Teams gear up for the National U22 Basketball Championships and the courts in Suva and Lautoka are alive with teams training for the upcoming event. 8 men’s and women’s team have registered for the tournament which will be held on the 9th -12th October at Ed's court, Raiwaqa. The tournament will be organised and coordinated by the Raiwaqa Basketball Players Associations with the support of the parent body. The tournament will be of great assistance to Basketball Fiji’s preparation plans for the 2010 National U20 Youth men’s and women’s team who will participate in the FIBA Oceania Youth U20 Tournament in New Caledonia next year. Furthermore the tournament is also in line with Basketball Fiji's strategic plans to make Fiji as competitive with Oceania powerhouses Australia and New Zealand in 4 - 5 years time. The tournament is set to be a fabulous event with many teams eagerly awaiting the event.
