Positive sign for basketball

The Ram Sami-sponsored National Club Championship basketball tournament was hailed a success by organisers yesterday. Basketball Fiji development officer Laisiasa Puamau said many young players exposed their talents and impressed the organisers. “The more tournaments we have, the more players gain interest in taking part which is a good build up to our selection for our national training and development squads. “Many new players turned up and this is a positive sign of a succesful season this year. “We would like to thank our main sponsor Ram Sami for enabling us to complete the tournament successfully.” Results: Women-Wed-C- Golden Bati 31-14, Mighty Mights- Veterans- 24-14, Waidonu- Bankstown, 29-18, Men-Mighty Mights- Bankstown 48-30, Shaq Attack- Veterans 38-20, Idaman- Bryceland 33-21
