Top guns do battle

TOP basketball teams will battle at the Boston Basketball tournament which starts today. Teams like Veterans, Shaq Attaq, Warriors, G Unit, Saints and Idaman are favourites to win the tournament. Veterans are boosted after winning the Tu Vili Cinavi Challenge during the Raiwaqa Basketball competition. The Post Fiji Boston Basketball tournament starts at 5.45pm this afternoon. Boston Club official Eroni Cinavilakeba said fireworks were expected at the tournament. "It's going to be very interesting with big guns like Saints, Veterans and Warriors playing in the tournament," Cinavilakeba said. "Veterans will be riding high after winning the Tuvili Cinavi challenge but I'm not ruling out other teams in the competition." In the women's grade, Wed C, Golden Bati and Knights will give Raiwai, NDP Black and NDP White a tough time. Wed C is boosted with Mere Naisoro and Seini Dobui while Golden Bati has tertiary and secondary school students. Cinavilakeba said the women's competition would be an interesting battle. "Wed C and Golden Bati are favourites because they have a lot of good players in their teams," he said. "It will be a hard fight but the best team will win at the end of the day." Cinavilakeba said the Boston Club wanted to set the platform for other clubs in the country. He said the club was the first to organise such a tournament.
