Mighty Mights and Boston provide tight competition at the Raiwaqa Basketball Association knockout competition at Eds Court yesterday. Mights fielding players in the national under 20 side beat Meads 72-28 in their first game on Friday. Boston beat a new looked Police side 40-32. Raiwaqa Basketball Association president Saula Koroi said the two-day competition was tight between participating teams. Boston, holder of the Tu Vili Cinavi Trophy alongside Mighty Mights proved their worth and are favorites next week. “Great display by many of the players especially the young ones,’ he said. “The women’s competition was also tight with Wed C and Fiji Whites national u20 team winning all their games. Koroi added the presence of former national rep Valerie Nainima in the competition gave young women chances of proving themselves in local competition as well as earning overseas contracts like Nainima.

Results: Mighty Mights 72- Meads 28, Wed C wbd- Golden Bati, Bryceland 35- Mighty 30, Fiji Whites 55- Police 11, Veterans 35- Bryce 21, Mighty Sharks 50- Police 31, Wed C 45- NDP Black 39, Boston 40- Police 32.
