Rain ends primary school basketball game

HEAVY rain yesterday disrupted a basketball game between Latter Day Saints and Fiji Vocational Technical Training Centre during the Twisties Primary School league Under-14 mixed grade at Ed's Court in Raiwaqa.

Solomoni Namalo and Colin Lal combined their individual skills and formed a deadly pair in LDS's attacks. LDS led 12-3 before the game was called off.

"Unfortunately we have to call off the match because of the heavy rain," games official Timoci Namalo said. "The court was wet and for the safety of the children, we decided call it a day." He said the games would continue next Friday. "Those two boys (Colin and Solo) played very well. They linked their attacks well but since we can't control nature, we couldn't watch them throughout the game," Namalo said.
