Uluiviti stands out on courts

TALL timber Josua Uluiviti scored 10 points as International Secondary School thumped Queen Victoria School 18-7 at the Ed's Court in Raiwaqa yesterday.

The 17-year-old was a class above the rest during round three of the Tuckers Ice Cream Secondary Schools Basketball League match.

Uluiviti said he picked up the sport when he was 12-years old but got into it seriously two years ago.

"I was in Tanzania in Africa where my parents were employed and that is where I learnt the sport," he said.

The young player's height and skills make him a potential candidate for national duties if he were to be moulded by the national selectors.

"I would love to represent Fiji if given the chance but at the moment, I am aiming to finish my school career without any hiccups," Uluiviti said.

Another player who stood out in the match was Jefica Tuisawau of QVS.

The pint sized player ran circles around defenders and scored amazing three pointers that left many stunned.
