Shaq Attack,Warriors lead Fiji basketball

The Basketball Fiji Easter Championship is under intense rivalry at the Vodafone Arena in Suva with three top teams remaining undefeated after two rounds of play.

Close to 30 teams from around the country are competing in the annual tourney vying for lucrative prize monies after each divisional final.

Basketball Fiji executive Laisiasa Puamau said intensity was building towards an exciting final on Saturday.The Easter Championship is among the annual highlights of our calendar,he added.

We have the cream of basketball in Fiji fighting to win the main prize and the national title. Teams like Shaq Attack are filled with top names like David Whippy, Freshman has Under-20 Fiji team vice captain and All Stars rep Jese Sikivou, while Warriors from Raiwaqa is packed with stars like Fiji reps Frank Saketa, Sakiusa Rokodi, Peniasi Sokosoko and Iowane Naivalurua, who is also a part of the Fiji Warriors squad, and laced with Fiji Under 20 players, Aaron Ah Yuk and Sakenasa Raisova.

Day 1: Bryceland 37- RYDP (Raiwai Development Program Team), Shaq Attaq 27- Boston 19, Idaman 41- Lami Hands 19, Warriors 31- Macpacers 25, Knights 15 - Pitbull 13, Freshman 26- Bulldogs 25, G-Unit 24 - Knicks 17, Saints 19 - Raiwaqa Veterans 11

Day 2: Shaq Attaq 22 - Bulldogs 12, Knicks 16 - Idaman 29, Macpacers 39- Nukuwatu 12, Bryceland 16 - Pitbull 14.

Quarter, Semi Finals and Finals will be played on Saturday the 11th of April @ the Vodafone Arena.
