Basketball Fiji meets with 2009/2010 National U20 Development Squad

On Thursday 8th October a meeting was conducted between Basketball Fiji's development officers and the National U20 Men's and Women's squad members at FASANOC in Suva. The purpose of the meeting was to outline and discuss the goals and objectives of the National Development Program. The program is to educate the players on what defines an elite basketball player. The key points stressed during the meeting were the importance of communication, discipline, player’s attendance, the importance of looking after your body, personal training and player’s attitude. Furthermore in the players agreement it was made complusory for each member of the National Youth Development Program to participate in the upcoming National U22 Basketball Championships and any upcoming competitions organised either by Basketball Fiji or the affiliated associations. Player’s congratulation, agreement and information forms was handed to each selected individual. 

The program will commence on Wednesday 22nd October with a 3 mile run along the Nasese Sea wall. The team is to assemble on at the car park outside the National Stadium wearing black shorts and a white t-shirt. Moreover each player is to bring a set of change to wear after the training session and a water bottle. The National Development Program information forms are due in on Thursday 23rd October and is to be dropped off at Basketball Fiji’s head officer. Failure to do so can lead to an automatic omission from the training squad.
