ACS stamps mark on court

Debutants Adi Cakobau School U19 team handed Gospel High School a 42-3 drubbing to notch the biggest upset in the Suva Secondary School basketball competition played at Ed’s Court.. The win places the girls from Waimanu Kui in the running for the U-19 title. ACS is led by Fiji U-20 squad member Mili Koyamaivure, Basketball Fiji development officer Laisiasa Puamau said, “For newcomers, ACS played very well and were impressive.”  “They have underlined themselves as a side to be reckoned with. They face stiff competition from teams like Suva Grammar, Yat Sen and defending champions Latter Day Saints who have been part of the system.”  In the other games, LDS U-17 defeated Gospel 46-7. In the boy’s division, Yat Sen defeated LDS 12-2 to stamp themselves as contenders for the U-19 title held by Marist Brothers’ High while Yat Sen’s U-16 defeated LDS 8-0. Following their impressive win, ACS leads the ladies division alongside LDS while Marist and Yat Sen top the boys table after the first round of the competition.
