Tuckers Ice cream National Secondary Schools Basketball Championship 2015

Goodman Fielder, Tuckers Ice cream today announced its 7th year of continued association with Basketball Fiji sponsoring the Tuckers National Secondary Schools Basketball Championship. This partnership was established in 2009, with Tuckers ice cream commitment to support sports development in the country. Sponsorship as such provide a platform for students to showcase their talents with the opportunity of further development.

The Tuckers Fiji Secondary Schools Basketball Championship will be held at the Vodafone Arena in Suva, Fiji from 24th -27th August 2015. The four day event will see teams representing schools in Tailevu, Levuka, Suva, Nadi, Lautoka and Ba. The schools include Queen Victoria School, Tailevu North, Adi Cakobau, Saint John College, Xavier College, Ba Pro, Natabua High School, Jasper, Nadi International, Swami Vivekananda College, Marist Brothers High School, Yat Sen Secondary Schools, Suva Grammar School, Cathedral High School, Gospel High School, Latter Day Saints College, J Narayan College, John Wesley College, International Secondary School and Saint Joseph Secondary School.

With a $15,000 sponsorship donation Basketball Fiji Vice President Ned Taito thanked Tuckers Ice Cream for their contribution towards sports development which witnessed former ACS student, Miliakere Koyamainavure a Secondary School student going to represent the country internationally who is now on a 4 year basketball scholarship in Missouri amongst few others. These opportunities would not have been possible without the contribution of Tuckers Ice Cream.

Goodman Fielder Marketing Manager Mr. Clifford Morris thanked the National Basketball Association for creating this platform for students of Fiji who may be looking at sporting careers and opportunities.  It is encouraging to see the sport evolve with our sponsorship over the past years.
