$200,000 boost for Basketball Fiji
Basketball Fiji was today on the receiving end of a $200,000 donation of equipment from an offshore development company.
The Shanghai Hotel Development Company from China gifted the association basketballs, back boards, playing gear as well as a projector set to boost its playing facilities and officiating.
Basketball Fiji Secretary, Major Ben Sikuri says this will pave the way for the much-needed development of the sport at grassroots level.
“The equipment that is being donated today will enhance our programs; our awareness programs by way of schools, clubs and business houses. Nothing can move without the equipment, apart from the personal.”
The donation was made possible through the mediation of Shanghai Hotel Development Company’s local partner, Homelink.
