THE EASTER CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP IS UPON US ONCE AGAIN

                         With the Suva Vodafone Arena as the venue and two courts in operation, the scene is set for the local grudge matches to take place.  The rivalry between teams from the Suva Association against those from the Raiwaqa Association is only a small part of the scene.  Coupled that with the competitiveness of the teams from the west wanting to beat their "up town rivals", and the scene is set for many a confrontation to end up as champion.  And that's just in the men's division.  T

                         The competition in the women's division is just as fierce and it is expected that those teams who have current NDP players in them will rise to the top at the end of the weekend.

                          But it is not just about on court rivalries and competition.  The weekend provides an opportunity for old friends (and foes) to catch up and socialise off the court.  When the heat of the battle is over and the sun sets, there will be many a story told of past performances of years gone by (often exaggerated by the course of time) over several bowls of that local brew "grog" (kava, yagona).
