B'ball players for one week workout

THE national basketball men and women's Under-20 squads yesterday started a one week training camp in Suva. Fiji Basketball official Saula Koroi said the idea was to bring the two training squads together bec-ause most members of the squads were students on holiday. Koroi said the one-week training camp included players from the Western and Eastern training squads. "We thought the school holiday was a good opportunity to bring the two training squads together for a weeklong camp." "The Western Under-20 squad had been doing their own training in Lautoka while our Eastern players had been working with their coaches in Suva," Koroi said. "Getting the two squads together will not only help the coaching team in getting the players to know each other well but it will also give them the opportunity to assess the players." Koroi said they would select the teams during the Fiji Games later this month. The week-long training is being held at the Ed's Court in Raiwaqa, Suva.
