Wesley b/ball upset Marist

Captain Benjamin Colata anchored ten points to help his John Wesley Under-17 boys basketball team to beat Marist’s first string team in round six of the Suva Schools League. “John Wesley is one of the new inclusions this season and they have performed above expectations,” Basketball Fiji development officer Laisiasa Puamau said. “Of the last five games, they lost one game against Yat Sen. “Under the leadership of Colata, who is also a national Under-20 rep and Waisale Suka, who plays volleyball and basketball, John Wesley have continued to lift their game. “Marist is one of the traditional giants in the competition and to lose to an inexperienced team like John Wesley tells us that the minor teams are picking up really quickly.” Yat Sen Secondary School, Adi Cakobau and Suva Grammar School are on bye this week because of exams.
