Nasinu joins basketball

Nasinu Secondary School joins the Tuckers Central Secondary Schools basketball competition at Ed’s Court in Raiwaqa yesterday. Nasinu lost their first game to Marist U19 boys 7-30. The Kinoya school joined the competition for the first time yesterday and coach William Qounadovu says they decided to take part after Fiji Basketball visited the school early this year.

“This is the first time for Nasinu to take part in the school’s competition and we were impressed with the amount of interests the students had towards the sport,” Qounadovu said. “We hope to continue to participate in the secondary schools basketball competition in future and will be very competitive,” he added.

St Joseph’s SecondaryU19 girls recorded the biggest win yesterday walloping Cathedral Secondary School 37-2 and SJSS U17 defeated Laucala Bay Secondary School 14-13.

U19; LDS wbd over Gospel High, Marist 30 Nasinu 7.

U17; SJSS 14 LBSS 13, LDS 32 Gospel 5
