B'ball to feature best of the best
BASKETBALL league teams that qualify in their respective competitions will participate in the 2010 Easter National Championship. Basketball Fiji development officer official Laisiasa Puamau confirmed that the best team from every association will pit their skills in the tournament in April in Suva."There will be no invitation but only the best teams from their respective association will participate," he said.Since the Suva Basketball Laucala Bay League 2010 will start on February 6, Puamau said teams would have to raise the standard of their game to be included in the meet.He said they would send invitations to overseas teams. "It'll be a good boost for the locals to pit their skills against them."Shaq Attack, led by Adrain Boosley, will be the team to watch in this year's competition.They will be up against Freshman, Suva Saints, Mighty Might, Bryceland and Idaman. Women's champion Executioners, led by Seini Dobui, will be facing teams like Southern Force, Golden Bati, Mighty Mights, Bankstown and Waidonu. "Hopefully, we will have some new teams in this year's competition," he said.
