THE LONG TRIP HOME

The teams boarded the bus for the Guam Airport at 12.00pm on Saturday 4th and arrived back in Suva at 1.30pm on Monday 6th, after travelling through several time changes and enduring 12 hours of transit in Seoul Airport.

The 10 hour flight from Seoul to Nadi was a time for many to catch up on some sleep.

The teams and staff were met at the plane in Nadi by Basketball Fiji President, Mr Iowane Naivalurua and escorted to a welcoming ceremony arranged by the Fiji Airports personnel.  This gesture was appreciated by all and the chance to have all immigation procedures arranged as it is done for VIP's made the players feel rather special.

After being greeted outside by family and friends it was then on the bus for the long trip back to Suva.

At the Bowling Club in Suva a large assembly of family and friends again greeted the players.  Excitement of seeing their children safe and sound was evident among the many parents.  President Naivalurua announced to all that thei kids could cook now and expected that the night's meal would be prepared by them.

For most it was home for more talk and hopefully some sleep.
