KUKS TOWN into Mens B GRAND FINAL

Kuks Town men’s basketball team has secured their spot for the grand final of the men’s B division after a comprehensive 28-26 victory over Mid-west snakes yesterday.

Mid-west snakes came out in the first quarter of the match determined, grabbing a 6-5 lead in the first quarter of the match.

Despite the lead in the first quarter Both snakes and Kuk’s struggled to find points in the first quarter of the match as poor finishing and good defending by defending by both teams’ defenders saw points hard to come by in the first quarter of the match.

In the second quarter of the match Kuks Town put up a strong performance to claw their way back into the match grabbing six points while allowing Snakes only ten points to lead 11-`10 in the second quarter.

In the third quarter it was a tough period for both teams as they struggled to find points in the third quarter.

Points were hard to come by but it was Kuks who managed to grab the only points of the match scoring two baskets to extend their lead to 18-10 in the third quarter.

In the fourth quarter of the match both team steeped up their performance shooting easy three pointers and two pointers as both seek to grab that grand final spot.

Despite both teams effort’s to snatch the lead in the final quarter both managed to finish the match with ten points each as Kuk’s Town hang on to their lead defeating Mid-West Snakes by 28-26 points marches on to the grand final of the Honiara Basketball men’s B division grand final.

Kuk’s Town will now move on to play Crusader’s men’s B division team for the title of champions.

While in the women’s B division second semifinal clash between SOSA and Taina, the former managed to secure their spot for the grand final with a comprehensive 55-22 victory at the Multipurpose Hall yesterday.

SOSA will take on Andel who defeated HCC by 31-21 in the first semifinal of the women’s B division for the title while Kuk’s town will play Crusaders in the Men’s B division grand final.

Meanwhile, the second semifinal of the Men’s and Women’s A division will take place this Sunday at the Multipurpose Hall. Pinoy and Crusadors will vie for the one spot to play QQQ Marist in the grand final Men’s A division while Lakers and Sunrise will also be fighting it out for a place in the grandfinal of Women’s A Division. The winner will play El Diva.

The Semifinals of this A division is expected to take place after the third place playoffs and the grand finals of the high school divisions this coming Sunday.

All matches will be played at the Multi-Purpose Hall.
