Vanuatu Friendly matches

The under 19 tournament in Fiji was a one week competition and both Teams have gain lots of experiences. They have also seen the lack of basics was one biggest contribution to their performance. After completing their games we travelled to Vanuatu to wait for another four to five days there to catch our flight back to Solomon Island. It was a long weeks of travelling playing and sight seeing for most of us. during our time in Vanuatu I arranged with their NBDO Mr Kervin to prepare us few friendly matches. He have managed to arranged two games for two days for us to play with their Senior Trial Team and a senior club teams. The Girls played one of the top womens club team called Sai Raga and went down to them by 43- 49. it was a very close game at all quater but the Ni-Vanuatuans have the advantage in heights which saw them gaining reboundings and miss matches at time causing the U19 Girls to rely on their speed to over run their opponent. On the game, the Boys also got defeated by the Vanuatu senior Trial Team. The senior Team came out firing in all quater playing full court man to man defence causing turn overs to the U19 boys. We tried to break their defences and managed to score few baskets but they were already upper hand at the final whistle. The final score was 58-22 to them. The official welcome speech prior to the matches was officially made by their National Federation secretary Mr Junior Mahit in the absence of their President who was busy during that time of opening. There was alight refreshment provided for us after the games by the NF and their NBDO. There will be another game today for the Boys and Girls playing a Men's and Women's club Team called Shefa.
