The S6BT2015 top four final playoffs this week will fall into the format of the first placed team taking on the fourth placed team on Tuesday whilst the second placed team to go up against third placed team this coming Thursday. Losers of the playoffs will then face each other for the overall third place whilst the winners head into the grand final match on Sunday 20th December, 2015.

Current ladder leaders, the Crusaders basketball club are proving as the favourites for this years’ championship title having gone unbeaten in all their round robin matches. Led by the Masaea brothers with high flying young gun Alex Masaea, power forward Timmy Magi and flash point guard Gavin Bare all pushing 80 points plus for their club during the opening rounds. The Crusaders basketball club are aiming to bag this year’s basketball title in perfect record.

Sitting on second place are the defending champions, QQQ Marist club who have been relying heavily on sharp shooter Waige Tuereke throughout the whole tournament so far. The green machine team are hoping to secure a record sixth grand final appearance this year having played in all the finals since 2010. QQQ Marist must improve on their defence if they want another title shot and the presence of height duo Goldie Kari and Allen Wanefai will prove crucial in this area.

Coming in on third place are the men in black, the Travel Blazers basketball club led by veteran point guard and Captain Moses Kivo, buoyant guards Cecil Loti and Junior Gwali along with another sharp shooter Alex Maka. Travel Blazers are back from a short stint off court since last year and have indicated their interest as top contenders. With their blend of experience and speed within their line-up, Travel Blazers are keen on reclaiming their position as former champions.

The fourth placed team in the S6BT2015 are the Ballers United. Comprising mainly of expats with the support of local power forward Artice Pugeva, Philippine utility player Eric Meneses and national squad point guard Phillip Tuhaika, Ballers United are hoping to cause some major upsets heading into the final two games of the tournament. Power forward and team manager Ben McNair is currently nursing an injury in Australia but believes his boys, with the support from the Philippines community group of versatile basketball players, they will be stepping up a gear to challenge the big three clubs this time around.

The top four teams will play each other throughout the week before heading to their last game on Sunday to close out the tournament.

Organizers of the S6BT2015 announced over the weekend that this week will be the final games since the initial six week competition was prolonged due to rain delays affecting few of the outdoor matches.

“We’ve had to defer some of the games due to rain and venue allocations over the course of tournament, but finally we are now nearing the end and hope to see the champion by this weeks end”.

“We anticipate a good round of final matches and once again appeal to all the teams and their supporters to maintain good sportsmanship, respect for both players and officials, including venue hosts, and show positive participation towards the game”.
