The Drought Has Broken

The drought that has plagued Fiji for the past few months has finally broken with a deluge raining down upon both Suva and the West.

While the farmers are celebrating, Fiji's cricketers are not so pleased with the rain causing the cancellation of this week's games in Nadi and Lautoka.

Both venues have had substantial rain over hte last few days and with more predicted for Friday a decision was made to cancel the round in order togive everyone time to adjust their plans.

"It was clear that the fields were not going to be in a suitable state to play on Saturday," said Cricket Fiji General Manager, "so we made the early decision to cancel the games in order to give everyone plenty of notice."

"We look forard to next week when the EPL will re-commence and the players can get back to playing cricket rather than dodging the rain."
