SSFA Touch Team make Quarter Finals
As the governing body for 20 sporting venues across Samoa, the SSFA supports the local sporting associations by entering teams in their business house tournaments & regattas. Currently the SSFA has a Mixed Netball team, a Men’s Touch Rugby team, Softball team, and a Saturday Men’s Hockey team.
SSFA also entered two teams in the Dash for Fun paddling regatta which was held on October 8th to support the Women’s Development Squad who competed at the Moso’oi Regatta in American Samoa, October 2008. The SSFA are also looking to add a Soccer team to their sporting prowess.
Of note is the men’s touch rugby team who made the quarter finals in their competition and qualified to be a part of one of the four franchise teams for this pioneering event. An excellent achievement for the team.
CEO of the SSFA, Dr. Siaosi G. Salesulu (Rev) believes that work sports teams encourage positive team building and healthy competition among the staff, as well as providing a way to stay fit.
