2012 HM Rd 9 Bulldogs v Penrith

Bulldogs OLD

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs wrapped up the regular Harold Matthews season with a 26-6 loss against Penrith Panthers on Saturday 7th April 2012, but following Manly's loss on Thursday night qualified for the semi finals.

The Panthers led 12-0 until moments before half-time when Lorima Sautu scored near the posts. Nifo Seve converted with the Bulldogs down by a converted try at the break.

The opening stages of the second half was played in between the teams 20m lines as neither side could quite strike the crucial advantage. Unfortunately for the Bulldogs errors crept into their game as the Panthers cashed in and scored three quick tries to blow the scoreline out to 26-6.

Best for the Bulldogs were Lorima Sautu, Nifo Seve and Marcelo Montoya.

Disappointed by the loss, the Bulldogs still live to fight another day and will face Newcastle in week one of the finals on Saturday 14th April 2012 with both sides in elimination mode. The match will be played at the Belmore Sports Ground with kick off at 1.45pm.
