The 12&U and 13&U teams had a great start to their seasons, combining well in team efforts. Many girls playing their first competition game. Conditions were very hot and draining.
13 & UNDER: defeated Sale City 16/13
This was a very close game up to the dying minutes of the game and had everyone on the edge of their seats. The girls were able to steady, get their nose in front and keep possesion to record a win
Racheal Summerfield played her most solid game ever at WA. Jaz Gregson played a lovely patient game, not rushing and waiting for girls to make position. Emily and Hannah debued beautifully for us also.
12& UNDER: defeated Guthridge Gangsters 14/6
These girls worked hard and steadily all game to increase their lead and maintain it..
Rachel Sellings played in what can only be described as a "blinder" in her netball debut. Emma O shot some lovely girls and worked hard at making position. Defense end was lead solidly by Laura Gay.
Congratulations everyone on your team efforts.
AWARDS to Rachel Sellings and Rachael Summerfield
15& UNDER: lost to SFNC 10/25
Although this was our first game, all girls played well together and can only get better as the season progresses. We were up against strong opposition who showed us what we can achieve with hard work and serious training. We had some good passages of play where we intercepted passes from the opposition but were then in a hurry to move it on which resulted in us losing the ball again and wasting our opportunity. We need to learn when to play fast and when to hold up the play and to keep moving around so our team mates have somewhere to pass the ball to. Lauren Wight and Shantaz Gregson moved around well in the middle of the court, while Hannah Buys scored well when the ball came into the circle. Woodside 10 lost to SFNC 25.
