BILL SWAN, was a local junior who came to the club via Carlton Thirds. After a slow start, when he played a lot of football in the back pocket and occasionally at half forward, he eventually settled down and made the centre his own. A small, highly skilful and elusive player with excellent disposal, he was a prolific ball getter. A feature of his game was his ability to dash out of the centre and kick a long running goal. Although subjected to a lot of physical attention he always made the ball his objective.
