Seniors
The seniors were competitive against the ladder leaders but the eventual 27-point loss was a frustrating result. After a five goals to three third quarter the Bulls looked set for an upset at three-quarter-time with the scores level and the momentum on their side. But to the Dees’ credit they took control in the final term to run away with the game. “Fridge” Sirett was the standout for the Bulls throughout, taking on Wyche.’s daunting two-pronged ruck attack and coming out on top in most contests. Riley Hogan took advantage of extra midfield time to make a solid contribution while Sam Morales made an excellent return to the senior ranks. Awards: Lochlan Sirett (Landmark & Mildura Finance), Riley Hogan (Donnellon’s Bulk Haulage), Sam Morales (Emerald Hotel South Melbourne), Charlie Hallam (Bowens’ Commercial Hotel), Tom Carland (Birchip Hotel), Stephen Paulke (Watchem Hotel).
Reserves
The reserves was a close and entertaining contest for spectators with neither team leading by a double figure margin at any stage. The Demons led by three points at quarter time, the Bulls by five points at half time and by three points at three-quarter-time. Unfortunately it was Wyche. who finished stronger, taking advantage of their opportunities to win by eight points. The loss is a blow to the Bulls’ finals aspirations and makes next week's game against the Saints of major significance. Awards: Shan Coffey (Donnellons' Bulk Haulage & Birchip Motel), Jack Ryan (Bowens' Commercial Hotel), Jack Lee (Birchip Hotel), Mitch Barry (Bourkes' Butchers), Emory Marshmann (Birchip Hotel), Callum Goode (Birchip Hardware).
U13s
The U13s did themselves and the club proud with a huge contingent of 28 players travelling to Wyche. to play with and against the Demons. Fantastic to see so many young Calves keen to play football. The final result was a 61-point win to Birchip-Watchem. Awards: Daniel Slater (Noonans’ Tyres & Sharps Bakery), Tadgh Lowry (Junior Executive), Ty Colbert (BWFC Ladies), Austin Dean (TMC Enviro), Charlie Barber (Haymes Paints Encouragement), Jade Kahukura (BB&LC Coach’s Award).
Netball
Travelling to Wycheproof the Bullettes were confident of good results in the netball and did not fail to deliver, taking out all games convincingly. Cintsy’s B grade girls had the biggest result, a 58-goal win against the always fighting Demons in a great team effort. The scoreboard however certainly didn’t reflect the fight shown in the games on the day by the Wycheproof-Narraport sides. It will still be a tough run to finals for our senior teams, with some grades needing a lot of luck and a few upsets to be contenders from this stage of the season. Hockey
It was a mixed bag on the hockey field with two wins, one draw and one loss for the Bulls in the official matches. Awards: Jarryd Bannan (Mallee Branded), James Paley (Birchip Hotel) and Matt Wheeler (Noonan Builders). Stephanie Coffey scored early in the women’s match but a second half equaliser from Wyche. saw the final scores locked at 1-1.
