Seniors
The seniors got off to a slow start but six unanswered goals in the second quarter proved to be the difference with the Bulls winning by 29 points. Reserves
The second quarter was also the highlight for the reserves, who kicked seven goals to Donald’s one in the term. Matt Berry was prominent again in the 36-point win, while the Balinese wonderboy Tison Wiantara is going from strength to strength. U16s
The U16s match carried great importance for finals positions and the Bulls got the job done in a thriller – winning by six points. U13s
The U13s provided plenty of resistance to a finals bound Donald team, leading at half time and trailing by just one point at the last change. The Royal Blues were able to pull away in the last term to defeat the Calves by 18 points. Netball
On the netball court Donald were too strong in four of the five matches played. A Grade needed to win to keep their finals chances alive and did so in excellent fashion. The unavailability of two regulars didn’t deter the Bullettes who stepped up to the occasion and earned a ten-goal victory. A Grade won 43-33. Hockey
Honours were shared on the hockey field, with the U15s having a big win for the Bulls and the women’s returning to the winners’ list. Women’s won 2-0. Elise Bales (Smales & Mallee Branded), Kristy Knights (Birchip Hotel). Men’s lost 0-1. Trent Allen (O’Connors & Mallee Branded), Kristy Knights (A Smith & H Hogan). Under 15s won 5-1. Emily Barber (J&K Dean), Bridie Reid (Sharp’s Bakery), Sassia Coffey (Bowens’ Sports Store). Under 12s lost 1-2. Gabby O’Donnell (Birchip Newsagency), Zali Angel (Greg’s Digging), McKellar Knight (J&K Dean). Minkey awards went to Noah Dean (Birchip IGA), Eliza Gould (Birchip Newsagency), Isla Ferrier (Bourkes Butchers) and Ollie Cook (Mallee Shearing Shed).
