The UNSW-ESThird Division side made it two from two at the weekend with a spirited 74 point win over Macquarie Uni at the Village Green.
Skipper, David Backler, got the ball rolling when he won the toss and sent his lads with the wind to the racecourse end.
Mac Uni scored the first major creating added uncertainty about the visitors within the ranks of the newly promoted Dogs.
It was then the âspiritualâ vice-captain, Casey âBig Catâ Stephens then roared into action.
Playing from the front, the 29-year-old was unstoppable, utilising his long reach to make a mockery of the Mac Uni defence.
He booted eight to add to his opening tally of six last week, turning the tables on regular goal machine, Warren âSwannyâ Swanson.
Tim âTimberâ Welsh was tapping brilliantly to Mark âDickoâ Dixon, Anthony Tomasiello and Ryanâ Tumblerâ Pike in the middle.
Dixon dominated all day in a best on ground performance that had the opposition in dire straits.
The Dogsâ defence was rock solid once again.
Dean âHard Manâ Hugheyâs long runs out of the backline shattered the Mac Uni forwards.
He was ably backed up by Michael Paxman at fullback, Andy Boehm, Brett Sampey and Mitchell
Brown.
The defence has allowed only seven goals in two matches.
Backler was sensational roving across the half-forward line and seemed to pop up everywhere while Dan âDavid Leeâ Rothâs second efforts from the wing were inspirational.
Bulldogs coach, Shaun âGullâ Fewings, was very happy with the win over a side considered one of the âteams to beatâ in third division.
The efforts by Dicko, Big Cat, Pikey and Hard Man in particular were match-winning, he said.
The Mac Uni coach looked shell-shocked when we shook hands after the game.
Iâm very satisfied with the way weâre coming together, we just need to tweak some things in the area of communication under pressure and snapping for goal.
The Dogs booted 22 behinds this week, 23 last week, 55 points in two gamesâ ironically the same total kicked against them.
They sit on top of the ladder with a healthy percentage and their first away game due at Penrith on Saturday.
Scores: UNSW-ES - 14.22.106
MAC UNI - 4. 8. 32

A special thanks to the support crew of Chris Holmes, Goose, Humpers, Micky Martin, Phil Garthe, Joe Srnec (canteen) and others.
Also a great effort by the thirds players helping the fourths to their first win.
Andrew Wise top-scored with four goals while Wes âThree Dadsâ Blundy Gow-Brown and Micky Martin had good games to feature in the best players.
Letâs keep up the discipline and focus, turn up to training and for the old heads around the place, rumours abound concerning the return of âthe Moth of the Weekâ t-shirt...look out Fours, some of you blokes are odds on!
The Gull.
