The Northern Allstars is one of twelve representative zones that participate in the Victorian Champions League under the player development program of Football Federation Victoria (FFV) and Football Federation Australia (FFA). 

The Victorian Champions League provides talented footballers in Victoria with the opportunity to improve their skills through fierce competition against the best talent in Victoria. It also serves as a talented player pathway for selection into Victorian Football State squads. To be considered for Victorian squads (and then Australian squads) and you are from a club based in FFV's Northern Zone you must be selected into the Northern All stars talented player program.

When will the trials be held?
 

Trials will be held on Saturday 3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th of September
 


What time is my age group? 

On each day the following times and age groups will trial:
 

  • 12 noon:     Under 13 Girls & Under 13 Boys
  • 1.30pm:      Under 15 Girls & Under 17 Girls
  • 3.00pm:      Under 14 Boys & Under 15 Boys
  • 4.30pm:      Under 17 Boys 

 

What other information should I know for trials? 

  • Players wishing to trial must arrive 45 minutes prior to commencement
  • On registration players will be issued with a number that is required to be worn throughout the trial
  • Players are not permitted to wear any club, school, Zone, State, NTC, academy or any other identifying uniform or jacket
  • Squads will be announced at www.northernallstars.com.au in the days after the final trial dates
  • Training will commence after team announcements are made
  • Northern All Stars Family Day will take place on Sunday 9th October for selected players and their families


If I want to be considered for Victorian selection do I have to play with the Northern Allstars?

  • Yes. If your club is based in the municipalities of Banyule, Darebin or Whittlesea you must participate with the Northern Allstars to be considered for Victorian selection.


What if I am injured - what do I do then?

  • If you are injured and still want to be considered for Victorian selection you will be required to present a medical certificate and demonstrate a commitent the Victorian Champions League by supporting your team mates on a regular basis.


How much does it cost?

  • If you are selected playing fees will be around $450 and these costs include playing and training kit, ground hire, referee fees and coaches fees. Insurance is covered through the FFV registration fees paid to your winter club. Alternative payment arrangments are possible for low income families.


What are the key dates?

  • 31 August – Only players who have registered with thier winter club by 31 August are eligible for selection (except players training and playing with the NTC, VTC or skillaroos)
  • 15 October – Expected season commencement (TBC)
  • 18 December – Final round before Christmas
  • 20 January – re-commence season
  • 25 February – season concludes (TBC)


What are the playing arrangments?

  • Girls – Under 13, Under 15 (must have 6 under 14 girls in squad), Under 17 (up to 6 overage players permitted)
  • Boys  Under 13, Under 14, Under 15 and Under 17 (3 over age permitted)
  • Under 20 Boys are still to be confirmed
  • To assist with player development additional points will be given for technical play and fair play
  • No finals, 18 home and away matches over 16 weeks (with 2 regional gala rounds)
