What to wear

Our club colours are emerald green & gold. For games players need emerald green shorts, and emerald green socks with a gold turnover. Both shorts and socks are available from Sportspower at 38 Duke Street, Gympie. Please note that a couple of our older competitive teams have in the past opted to wear plain white socks to match their playing strip - please check with Allison or Kelly before purchasing new socks in case this applies to your team.

Players’ shirts are provided by the club for games, and are distributed and collected by team managers weekly.

All players must wear appropriate football boots (no metal tags allowed) and protective shin pads under their socks when playing and training. Caps are not permitted for safety reasons – only fabric bucket hats may be worn while playing.

Who can play

Golden City aims to field teams in all age divisions from Under 6 (children must be at least 5 years old) to Mens and Ladies. Our junior and youth teams are usually mixed boys and girls, though if there is enough interest we try to offer the option of all-girl teams in some age divisions.

Our teams generally train every Wednesday afternoon. Please confirm your team’s training times and locations with club officials.

Sign Ons

Everyone can now register and pay fees online at home at their own convenience. For those who require computer access or other assistance with registering, Football Gympie will be hosting two traditional 'face to face' sign on days pn February 2 and 9 in 2012, before the football season officially kicks off. New and returning players should register before or on one of these days, as clubs have to prepare team nominations before competition games begin in March. Registrations may be accepted after these dates if there are still places available in our teams.

Let’s play football!

We participate in the Football Gympie Association competition, and all our matches are held on Saturdays at One Mile Ovals in Gympie. First matches of the day generally kick off at 8:45am and then run throughout the day. Some senior games may be held on Friday evenings.

The whole family can be involved

Come along and watch your child play, grow and keep fit in a team sport that they may well continue to enjoy for many years to come. Golden City relies on valuable volunteers to assist as coaches, managers or general helpers. Please contact one of our committee members if you would like to help out in any way.
