Code of Conduct

By registering with our club, you are agreeing to our Football Code of Conduct.

Golden City Soccer Club requires that we ALL act as role models –  acting responsibly and working together as team members. We suggest that parents read this and discuss relevant points with their children.

For our Senior Players, the same Code of Conduct applies, and we expect our playing adults to be role models for all younger players - regardless of whether you are a parent or not.

  • Remember that children participate in sport for their enjoyment, not yours.
  • Encourage children to participate, do not force them.
  • Set a good example by your own conduct, behaviour and appearance.
  • Remember that children learn best by example. Appreciate good performances and skilful plays by all participants.
  • Teach children that an honest effort is always as important as a victory, so that the result of each game is accepted without undue disappointment.
  • Never ridicule or yell at a child for making mistake or losing a competition.
  • Do not criticise young players in front of others. Reserve constructive criticism for more private moments.
  • Encourage children to play according to the rules and to settle disagreements without resorting to hostility or violence.
  • Respect officials’ decisions and teach children to do likewise.
  • Accept decisions of all referees as being fair and called to the best of their ability.
  • Show appreciation for volunteer coaches, officials and administrators. Without them, your child could not participate.
  • Do not raise issues or disagreements publicly.
  • Do not criticise opposing team members or supporters by word or gesture
  • Support all efforts to remove verbal and physical abuse from sporting activities.
  • Always use of facilities and equipment provided respectfully.
  • Respect the rights, dignity and worth of every person regardless of their gender, ability, cultural background or religion.

Football Gympie Association has high expectations of the clubs and members who use its facilities and are part of the competition it administers. Breaches of rules governing player and spectator behaviour are taken very seriously, and may be the subject of disciplinary action in the form of fines or bans (either temporary or permanent).

All areas of the One Mile Sports Complex, including the fields and all buildings are strictly non-smoking zones.

Due to Liquor Licence Regulations, consumption of alcohol purchased at the Football Gympie Clubhouse is only permitted in the marked undercover areas near the canteen and clubhouse itself. BYO alcohol is not permitted at the One Mile Sports Complex.

In accordance with Council Regulations, dogs are not permitted in the vicinity of the Football Gympie Clubhouse, or any of the fields and facilities at the One Mile Complex. For the safety and comfort of others (and your dog), please do not bring your dog to training or matches.
