CODE OF CONDUCT (All Grades)
ALL PLAYERS, COACHES, OFFICIALS & MEMBERS
1. The Club’s Code of Conduct is applicable at all officially organised games, practice and training sessions, as well as all official club functions, which incorporates after-match functions regardless of whether it is at our home ground or another venue.
2. Respect the Club, its members, coaches, officials, sponsors & their business interests at all times. Remember you are a representative of the Manly Warringah Australian Football Club so conduct yourself at all times with a decorum, which brings credit to yourself & the club.
3. All players and members are to pay the required membership fees by the due date. Any player who has not paid the fees, or made arrangements with the Club may risk being ineligible for selection.
4. Obscene language or behaviour is not acceptable and will not be tolerated, both on the field and at any Club function.
5. Acts of ill discipline, which leads to dismissal from the playing field, could lead to disciplinary action.
6. Racial taunts of discriminatory comments of any kind are totally unacceptable both on and off the field.
7. Sexual indiscretions of any description toward anyone (regardless of gender, age or race) are totally unacceptable. The club will NOT accept responsibility for any player or official of the club for such behaviour.
8. Abusive or disparaging comments towards umpires or any AFL official are totally unacceptable. Umpires do make mistakes, but there is nothing you can do. Accept the decision and get on with the game. Should there be a 50m penalty against Manly as a result of your actions you will be removed from the ground immediately.
9. If you have a problem, discuss it with your Coach, Senior Playing Group or a Board member. Taking problems/frustrations onto the field in no way helps your team, or you as a player.
10. All players are to abide by the training and match day rules set by the Director of Football and Coaching staff. Players will make suitable arrangements to ensure that they meet such requirements.
11. Players who are unable to attend any games, training or social functions must inform a member of the Coaching staff or a Board member giving reasons why not.
12. All players unable to play or train due to an injury must notify one of the Coaching staff and the club Physio, attend all injury management sessions and be present at official games.
13.All players must be aware of their responsibility to treat club property with respect, as they would their own.
14. Change rooms are to be kept clean & tidy at all times. Remind other players who are untidy of this requirement.
15. Smoking is not permitted in the change rooms or Clubrooms on match days and training nights.
16. As there is an U18 Team as part of the Club no senior player is to provide any under age player with alcohol of any description. It is illegal and the Club has a duty of care in relation to minors, which must be upheld at all times.
17. Players, supporters and club officials are NOT to become involved in any on field fracas or melee that may occur. All are reminded that once the altercation leaves the playing arena, it becomes a civil matter and could result in Police action.
18. No player or member is to speak to any representative of the media in relation to a Club or football matter without the prior approval of the Director of Football or the President.
