1. Mission Statement
This Mission Statement contains the values, goals and principles which underpin the operations of the Club.
All players, parents, coaches and officials are requested to support the Club Committee by noting, observing and applying the following:-
The Club exists solely to provide players with an opportunity to play football and develop skills in a supportive, community environment.
We want to have a reputation as a caring and professional Club; a Club which plays by the rules and fosters a sense of community.
Our coaches, team officials and helpers are volunteers who generously give of their time and skills for the benefit of players. We expect players and parents to respect and co-operate with these people.
We play team football and promote fair play with a focus on personal effort and enjoyment; winning is only part of the fun.
We respect the rights, dignity and worth of all players – team-mates and opposition – and expect good sportsmanship from everybody attending a match.
The Club reserves the right to suspend any player, parent, coach or official whose behaviour is inconsistent with the above values, goals and principles.
2. Recognising Achievement
The Club has a policy of recognising player milestones and achievements. It also considers it important to provide players with a record of their year as a member of their football team.
3. Recording Games Played
The North Hobart Junior Football Club records the number of games played by each player.
4. Registration Fees
At the commencement of each season, the incoming Club Committee will determine registration fees.
NHJFC is a not-for-profit junior football club seeking to provide young Tasmanians with an opportunity to play the Australian game of football.
The Committee should adopt a budget which will enable the Club to perform its nominated functions without incurring debt.
Debt should not be carried forward from one season to the next.
Budgets should be drafted having regard for the following principles:-
1. Registration fees should be kept as low as possible. 2. Single player fees for juniors should be no more than 85% of the youth single player fee. 3. A family of two or more players should ordinarily receive a discount. 4. A maximum fee or upper limit to apply.
5. Out of Age
The North Hobart Junior Football Club believes that young people should play football with others of their own age.
It is the policy of the Club that players must seek registration in the team which is appropriate to their age.
6. Life Membership
Members who have completed 5 years minimum meritorious service may be considered for Life Membership. Recommendation for life membership shall be made by the Executive at an Annual General Meeting and elected by three-quarters of the members present. Life members shall maintain continuous voting rights and attendance rights for all meetings conducted by the club.
7. Team Numbers
Youth Teams U13-U18:
- youth teams are capped at a maximum of 26 players
- preference will be given to re-registering NHJFC players (played last year with NHJFC)
- to be counted in the 26 players, the player must have registered, paid at least the minimum registration fee and returned any outstanding property belonging to the Club
- players awaiting clearance or out of age approval will not be counted in the 26 players until approvals are confirmed and all other conditions in this policy are met
- any extra players after 26 maximum has been reached can still train with NHJFC in case a second team can be formed otherwise they should approach other clubs
Junior Teams U08-U12:
- this policy does apply to junior teams as these teams can more effectively rotate players and form additional teams
8. Smoking
The Club proudly supports the participation of children in junior football.
Whilst providing children with an avenue to participate in their chosen sport, the Club is also endeavoring to provide them with a healthy environment in which to play football.
To assist in meeting this objective the Committee has made all Club venues where matches and training are held and all Club events 'Smoke Free'.
The Club will provide a separate designated smoking area away from all activities.
9. Jumpers
Jumpers are issued by the Club to players at the start of each season.
