Season Summary for 2012

Well what a fantastic season that 2012 has been for the Lane Cove Tigers. There were many highlights and it was great to see junior rugby league back in Lane Cove in 2012. Many thanks to our dedicated coaches and parents for all their assistance in re-forming this club.

It has been great to see the fantastic attitude of the kids throughout the year with almost all of them in their first year of rugby league. The continued improvement in their skill level has been fantastic to watch and many great friendships have been formed.

The minis gala day at North Sydney Oval was a great way to wrap up the season, with the Under-9s team also joining us on the day to celebrate an enjoyable year. It was particularly remarkable that even after the Under-9s team missed out on a finals berth the boys wished to keep training right up until grand final week and even beyond, which represents just how much they enjoyed the season.

Congratulations to George from the Under-7s team who took out the Skins Leading Tryscorer competition for the most tries from any age group throughout Australia. He finished up with 57 tries throughout the regular season. Josh and Anthony from U7s and Edward from U6s also finished within the top 100 try scorers, which is a fantastic effort from a small club.
