CLUB POLICY GUIDELINES FOR COACHES, PLAYERS & PARENTS

Marist Coaches, players, parents and supporters are reminded of the etiquette and policies required at our Club.

Respect to all members of the Basketball Community at all times is paramount to the fabric of Marist and its members. Poor sportsmanship, abuse or general bad behavior will not be tolerated in anyway and will lead to possible sanctions or explusion from the Club.

Marist members are gratefulfor the time, knowledge and efforts put in by many people to make this club function and are reminded it is on a voluntary basis.

Please take this into consideration when coaching, playing or watching all games.

1. Select Strongest team for division 1;

    a. A second div 1 team will only be selected if the committee agrees

    b. If a second team is selected the teams will be even

2. If, as part of the competition grading rounds a team is regraded into division 1 meaning 2 teams in div 1;

   a. All teams for that age group will be disbanded

   d. The remaining players for an age group will be divided into even teams in div 2

3. Players may nominate 1 player who they wish to be in a team with. Players wishing to nominate a teammate may preclude themselves from div 1

4. Any late registrations will need to be approved by the committee before being placed into a team.

   a. If there are two teams in the smae division the extra player may cause the reselection of the teams to ensure they remain even

5. Any junior with the ability to play up an age group in div 1 should not be precluded from doing so.

SUPERVISION AT TRAINING POLICY

Victoria has recently introduced compulsory minimum standards for organisations that provide services for children. To be consistent with these standards, Marist NDC Basketball Club has introduced this policy to ensure the safety of its members during scheduled training sessions.

It is a requirement of all players, up to and including under 14's, to have a legal guardian or nominated guardian to attend training sessions. All players at training should be able to identify, when asked, who their responsible guardian is for the training session.

The responsible guardian must be in attendance for the entire training session and present inside the stadium. It is not acceptable for the responsible guardian to be sitting in their vehicle outside of Mercy Stadium whilst training is taking place.

The repsonsible guardian must be over the age of 18.

If a player cannot identify their repsonsible guardian present in the stadium, they will be asked to sit out the training session until their guardian arrives or becomes present innthe stadium.

Parents or guardians are strongly discouraged from dropping players at the stadium a substantial period of time prior to their scheduled training sessions from starting, for the purposes of the player having a casual shoot around. The same rules as outlined above apply; being that any player who is present in the stadium without a legal guardian or nominated guardian will be asked to sit down and not participate until their guardian arrives.

Marist NDC Basketball Club strives to ensure a safe and happy training environment for all players.

Support and compliance with this policy will contribute to this occurring.

Note: Whilst parent/guradian attendance at training is encouraged, the above policy does not apply to under 16 and under 18 training. However, your siblings will not be allowed to use spare courts, if available, without compliance with the aboe policy.
