Hey, I’m Emma and I’m from Southwood Purple Venom. Eight of us played in the MENA tournament in the under 15s section 1 and we were all really excited to play. We played 7 rounds and won all but one, which we lost by just 2 goals. Most of the teams we played were ones from our Saturday competition but there were a couple that we were unfamiliar with and it was a great challenge to play some new teams. We finished 2nd at the end of the rounds and won our semi final by 3 goals. We went on to win the grand final by 4 goals. Thanks to Tracey for coaching us! It was a great day!

My name is Joel Gosbell and I'm part of the Southwood U13 yellow or 'vixens'. For the MENA tournament we started the day with all of our players, it was a while before we played our first game. I think that playing just the day before really helped as we were able to continue our good form and win. We played five round robin games, going through to the finals undefeated. We took on Blackburn Lake in the semi, surviving a great scare to win 4-2. Progressing to the Grand Final, playing Trinity who we had not played that day. Despite a rather small crowd, the nerves still crept through to me in the lead up. But we came out with our A game, winning comfortably by five goals. I'd like to thank all the girls, the several coaches and the parents who were in and out all afternoon.

Comment Guidelines: The SportingPulse Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.

Our Apprentice Squad (for 9U beginners) trains on Tuesday at 3.45pm to 4.30pm and is for any player who would like to have a go before joining a team. This is a great way to experience some netball skills in a friendly environment.  Training is held only when our teams are training, ie. no training before a long weekend or in school holidays.
