Upper Ross Junior Rugby League has received Good Sports level 3 accreditation – the first sporting club in the region to reach this level.
The Townsville-based club includes 150 players between 5 and 16 across 9 teams.
As one of the smaller clubs in the competition, Upper Ross President Wade Donald said that in the past, the club’s livelihood relied heavily on alcohol sales up until they joined the Good Sports program to enhance the family-friendly nature of the club.
“We became part of Good Sports to enhance the image of our club as a family orientated club. With the processes and resources available from Good Sports we felt we could better manage the issues.”
Congratulations to Upper Ross Junior Rugby League on reaching this accreditation and leading the way for all other clubs in the region.
