QLD Government "Get Started" Initiative

We understand the financial strain preparing to sign on a child for footy can bring. The state governments ‘Get Started’ component of the Get in the Game initiative will be available from 15 January 2013. The Get Started program assists children who can least afford it to join a sport or recreation club. Eligible applicants can apply for a $150 voucher, which can be redeemed at a participating sport or recreation club. The vouchers are on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. Queensland children under the age of 5 and young people under the age of 18, who hold or whose parents hold a Health Care Card or Concession Card are invited to register for the $150 voucher. Comment Guidelines: The SportingPulse Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
