Australia Day 2013 Heats Up!

It's been around for the past 6 years and it's one of the funnest days on the Banyo calendar. It's AUSTRALIA DAY CRICKET at the club.

No matter your age, young or old, every willing participant gets bat and bowl.

"The club has really adopted Aussie Day Cricket" Banyo groundsman Tony Bailey explained. "The fellas dress up in their Aussie gear and generally have a great time. As always I will mark out a pitch and mow the strip the day before." Tony said.

Club secretary Craig Molyneux said "The club is opening the bar this year, but in the spirit of Australia Day it's still BYO for all patrons. The club has the radio set to Triple J for the Hottest 100 countdown and the ODI is on the big screen."

Club President Bruce "Bear" Nemer explained "It's a fun family day, which any member of the local community can attend".

As always the club will provide their BBQ, so if you bring the esky full of beer and meat, your set for a big day.

The day will kick off around 2pm and will run till late.

We hope to see you there.
