Code of Conduct
Introduction
This code of conduct is intended to be a guide to all members of the Keon Park Stars Junior Football Club on how the committee expects its members to conduct themselves while representing the Club at training, games, social functions and formal presentations.
For the purpose of this code, the committee defines a member as:
- any person elected to any committee or sub committee.
- any coach, assistant coach, team manager, runner, medical officer or water person.
- any currently registered player.
- any parent or guardian of a currently registered player.
The Core Principles of this Code
- Junior sport should be fun.
- Junior sport should be safe.
- Junior sport should be fair.
- Junior sport should belong to juniors.
Player's Code of Conduct
- Abide by the rules of the game and the rules set down by your coach, club and league.
- Never argue with an umpire or official. Respect umpires' decisions. Without umpires, you can't play football.
- Control your temper. Verbal or physical abuse of officials, umpires, spectators or other players, or deliberately distracting or provoking an opponent is not acceptable.
- Be a team player. It's a team game, treat it that way.
- Treat all players as you would like to be treated. Fairly.
- Co-operate with your coach, the umpires and team mates.
- Play for your own enjoyment and to improve your skills.
- Don't use ugly remarks based on race, religion, gender or ability. You'll let down your family and yourself if you do. Many such comments are now illegal.
Member's Code of Conduct
- Remember that you are there for the participants to enjoy the game.
- Encourage participation, but don't force it.
- Teach that enjoyment is more important than winning.
- Never ridicule mistakes or losses. Supporters are there to support not denigrade.
- Lead by example and respect all players, coaches, umpires and spectators. Physical or verbal abuse will not be tolerated.
- Support all efforts to remove verbal and physical abuse from junior sport.
- Show appreciation of volunteer coaches, officials and administrators, without whom your child could not participate.
- Never publicly criticise umpires. Raise personal concerns with club officials in private.

The Clubrooms
- The Clubrooms are smoke free area.
- Please put all litter in the rubbish bins provided.
- Members are to treat the Clubrooms and fellow visitors in a courteous and respectful manner.
- Abuse of photos, equipment, fixtures and fittings in the Clubrooms will be severely dealt with by the committee.
