Parkside Junior Football Club - Registration Day for 2010

Parkside Junior Football Club will be holding its Registration Day for all teams (except the Under 14's) on Sunday 21 February 2010 between 10am and 11am at Pitcher Park. It would be helpful if you could print the attached form and bring the completed form to the registration session.  Those new to the Club will also need to provide a copy of their passport or birth certificate as proof of age.  The Registration Fee is the same as 2009 at $160 payable by cash (please bring the correct change if possible) or cheque payable to "Parkside Junior Football Club".  Sorry we do not have credit card facilities.

To be eligible to play in any particular age group the player must have that birthday during that calendar year.  For example a player turning 10 years old during the 2010 calendar year can register for the Under 10 team.

If you know of anyone that may be interested in playing for the Devils this year please pass this message on.  In accordance with the Club's policy, players from the 2009 teams and, in the case of the Under 8's, those players that were registered in the Alphington-Fairfield Auskick clinic who last year expressed their interest in playing for the Devils this year, will be given priority.

If you were registered in a team last year and cannot make it to the Registration Day, it is essential that you contact me prior to the Registration Day so that your position in the team can be reserved.  There is a strict limit of 24 players per team.  Positions in teams will only be secured once the the Club has received the completed Registration Form, proof of age and the $160 Registration Fee.

It is a Club policy that mouth guards must be worn by all players during both training and matches.  We have arranged for Giorgio Dental (205-209 Moreland Rd, Coburg) to attend the Registration Day to professional fit new mouth guards to those players that want them.  The cost is $60 (please bring correct cash) and a receipt will be made available upon request if you would like to seek reimbursement under your private health insurance.  The fitting will be done on Registration Day and the mouth guards will be ready for collection at the first training session.

The Club has engaged the services of Impact Football Solutions, a company specialising in providing AFL clubs with quality and well structured coaching and general skills programs, to hold a coaches training session on Friday 5 March 2010 from 6-9pm.  If you may have any interest in coaching in the future you may like to attend.  Topics covered during this session will include:

1.  Role of the Coach - youth characteristics and motivators

2.  Typical Training Session - skill development around today's game

3.  How to teach basic skills - kicking

4.  Match day coaching - how to maximise staff involvement

5.  Basic Tactics/Game Plan

We are looking forward to another fun and exciting season in 2010 and look forward to seeing you again on the Registration Day

Attached is the Registration Form.
