Before Game Day

Venue and court number and game times are detailed in the Fixtures/results page of the Belmont Website. Season schedules are generally published and available from a fortnight prior to the season commencing. Fixtures can also be viewed via  www.sdbal.com.au  FIXTURES/RESULTS page.

Where Belmont has two teams in an age group one team will appear as ‘Belmont Saints’ and the other as ‘Belmont Blaze’. Be sure to check which team you have been placed in!

Game Day

Please arrive on time for your game in uniform. Coaches and managers will be there, and being volunteers are greatly appreciated by the club. Play hard, have fun and respect the referees.

Active participation by parents is encouraged so please, don’t hesitate to offer your support to the coach manager or become one yourself.

Active participation is also a necessity because every team must provide a scorer for each game. We encourage parents to rotate this role amongst themselves. If you’ve not done it before don’t worry – the referee sets things up for you and will answer any questions. It really does just involve pressing a few buttons and if anything enhances your enjoyment of the game.

Anyone interested In coaching is welcome – we will provide support and fund your basketball Queensland accreditation.

Between Games

Training decisions are made by the coach who will fix the training time and venue, typically with some input from the team. Advanced Coaching support on an ad-hoc basis is available upon request.

SDBA offers holiday camps, often lead by Spartans players which are a great way to improve your skills and make new friends.
