1. The use of social media is becoming increasingly commonplace in the community. As a result, the phenomenon of “cyberbullying” is becoming increasingly prevalent.
2. For the purposes of this Policy:
o “Cyberbullying” includes harassing, threatening, intimidating, teasing, racially vilifying, ridiculing, publishing embarrassing or sexually explicit images or otherwise insulting a person by use of electronic media;
o “Electronic media” includes email, text (SMS) messaging, Twitter, Facebook, Google+ and postings on any social networking sites;
o “Member/s” includes EMJFC Members.
3. All EMJFC members, club officials, registered players, umpires, employees and officials must not engage in any form of cyberbullying directed towards another EMJFC member, club official, registered player, umpire, employee, official or supporter.
4. Where an instance of cyberbullying originates from electronic media, the holder of that account shall be deemed to be in breach of this Policy.
5. Any allegation of a breach of this Policy shall be investigated by the EMJFC Club Secretary and, in the event that there is evidence that cyberbullying has occurred, the matter shall be dealt with in accordance with the EMJFC Executive Committee.
6. Where a charge of cyberbullying is sustained by the EMJFC Executive Committee, the Committee may impose such penalty as it deems fit in the circumstances, including suspension or fine.
