Well 2012 for the Fish Creek Football Club has been a challenging and rewarding year.
The Club was rocked by the Death of Mick. He was a great secretary but more importantly a great bloke. He gave me the confidence to take the job on and was a great role model and mentor for me.
We have had sadness and success.
We have made new friends and lost special friends.
We held a very successful working bee at the start of the year, which involved most of the work being done by the players. We now have a new coach’s box, the rooms were re-painted, score box was painted, gardening was done and a general clean-up had. Thanks to all involved!
It was great that the Netball committee were able to get up and ready for the start of the season.
We have new lights for around the ground and Johnny O’Sullivan and Pete Musinskas were very generous with their time to get the job done.
We have held many functions and fundraising activities again throughout the year. Many people have put hours and hours of work into making them as enjoyable and successful as they were.

We need to recognize and thank our sponsors for their generosity throughout the year.

Jodi, Gabbi, Pete Barry and the many helpers for Thursday night teas.
Gordon and helpers for the can bar and cool room.
Helen for organizing merchandise.
Dot and Dave for cleaning up the ground on Sunday mornings.
Any Kerr for line marking of the ground.
All the Goal umpires & Time keepers.
Thanks to Graeme Watkins for doing the umpiring each week, he does a great job with very little praise.
Thanks to Kelly Pruyn for “The Fishy Tales”.
Bev, Anna, Ross, Rabbit, Neil, Katie and all the junior parents that have helped with the training duties.
To our Coaches and coaching staff as well as our Team Managers.
Thanks to Pete Barry for organizing the RSA course.
Thanks to our great supporters, I think ours are amongst the best in the league.
Our Fourths backed up with another Premiership this year.
The Thirds had a pretty good year and it was disappointing that they didn’t make the finals.
The Reserves started the season off very undermanned but slowly got a few more numbers as the year went on.
After the year that we had, I can’t help but feel disappointed about the way the seniors finished off. They played some really good football to get us into a good position but didn’t go on with it. The playing group are hurting and want to achieve more next year no doubt.
Congratulations to Travis Manne and Kara Wogan Browne for winning the league best and fairest awards.
Also to Jason Rouda, Steve Blencowe, Travis Manne and Lachie Pratt who were selected in the team of the year. To Gus for the fourths goal kicking award and to all the players who represented us in the inter league game. Well Done!
Thanks to all committee members for the work that you have given to the club. Many hands make light work.
I want to personally thank John for the massive job that he does. From the little things that nobody notices to the running of the bar and handling all of the money and floats. It’s a big job that you do really well, thanks John.
I want to thank Veronica Park for everything that she does. Example being the memberships, It’s a tough job. And also for being a great backstop for me.
Thanks heaps to Helen Hams, not only for her culinary skills which by the way are amazing, but also for being the liaison person from the Netball Club. Straight talk is good talk!
Thanks to Ross for the work that you have put into the grant applications, something totally out of my league. You also jumped straight in when we were short of trainers. Everything you do gets done thoroughly.
Thanks to Bucko for the job that he does and the support that Gabbi gives him. It’s a thankless job. Thanks to Neil, you’re a great support, you help me with everything and I don’t know of anyone else who could have done what you did at Mick’s memorial. You represented not just the Footy Club but also the community, well done.
Thanks to Jason, not only for the best website in Victoria, the most amazing photographic skills and notes in the papers. Thank you for jumping in the deep end when needed (mick would be proud) and for doing such a great job of it.
Thanks to Marshall for the job that you have done. Above and beyond what most coaching roles consist of. Most people don’t see the extra things that you do, but I’ve seen some, and I appreciate it. You’ve always been honest and put your club first and done a very tough job as well. Thank You.
I want to finish by saying thank-you for the support that I have received from the committee and people around the club.
The club s in a great position both on and off the field and I look forward to seeing a lot more success in season 2013.
