Congratulations to Tyntynder Football Netball Club who were last night awarded the Kerang / Swan Hill 2012 Regional Good Sports Club of the Year and also the 2012 Victorian Rural Goodsports Club of the Year.
The Good Sports winners were announced during the Australian Drug Foundation's Dame Elizabeth Murdoch oration following an address by NSW Police Commissioner Andrew Scipione who spoke about the amount of time Police spent dealing with the consequences of alcohol related crime and anti social behaviour.
The National Good Sports awards aim to celebrate Good Sports clubs who have gone above and beyond in promoting the values of the program which, in turn, helps clubs to provide safe family friendly environments through the responsible management of alcohol.
Congratulations to North Clare Football Club from South Australia who took out the 2012 National Good Sports Award, Maitland Pickers Rugby League Club (NSW) and Victoria's Golden Square Football Netball club who were named runners up.
Well done to Tyntynder Football Netball Club for providing a safe , family friendly sporting environment for our members, players and supporters. Previous state Good Sports award winners include Murrabit FNC and Swan Hill FNC.
