Australian Football League General Counsel Andrew Dillon today announced the appointment of Victoria Police Homicide Squad detective Tony Keane to the role of Investigator in the AFL’s Integrity Department. Tony coached Tyntynder FC in the Central Murray League in the 90's....

KIRBS AMONGST BEST AS LAGUNTAS POST FIRST EVER WIN
Supported by the AFL, the Korin Gomandji Institute (KGI) and AFL SportsReady, the 2014 Laguntas Program kicked off on the weekend with more than 30 boys from around Victoria attending a high performance camp under the guidance of three-time Brisbane Lions premiership hero Chris Johnson and AFL Victoria indigenous program staff. KEEPING THE BUS ON THE ROAD
Recently announced as a finalist in the VicHealth 2014 Victorian Health Promotion Foundation Awards in the “Building Health Though Sport” category and, knowing the protective factors that come into play by being part of a team, Tyntynder Football Netball Club is working to develop a safer, healthier sporting and social environment for its members.

ONE NIGHT AT TRAINING!
With a "Boom Box" blasting out eighties music it was great to see netballers and footballers combining for a fun filled training session earlier in the season. Bold colours, parachute tracksuits, leg warmers and "big hair" were the order of the night and it was just plain "hilarious" for everyone watching as participants attempted to master the "grapevine"!

VicHealth announced the finalists of the 2014 Victorian Health Promotion Foundation Awards on Wednesday highlighting some of the finest health promotion projects and programs working in Victoria over the last year.
VicHealth CEO Jerril Rechter said the scope and level of creativity and innovation reflected in the nominations confirms why Victoria is considered a world leader in health promotion.

2014 JUNIOR FOOTBALL BEST AND FAIREST WINNERS
A huge congratulations to our junior football teams who both made it to finals this year - an awesome effort by an awesome group of young Tyntynder lads. Well done to all award winners, in particular Jack Woodward who took out the U16 B&F and to Pat Crowe who was named Runner Up. Jim Sala put in a great year and came home with the U14's B&F with a worthy runner up in young Jack Mazzarella!

UNI BLACKS BRING HOME THE CUP
Go the Blacks! Won the firsts and seconds and our own Tyntynder boys, Scotty, Bede and Trent were right in amongst it. For those that aren't aware, the twos were a draw when the siren rang, they played extra time and won by 10 points. Great effort boys!

BRAD CARROLL AWARDED LIFE MEMBERSHIP
In front of a crowd numbering close to 400, Tyntynder's much loved home grown player Brad "Charlie Carroll" was awarded Life Membership of the Club. An unsuspecting Carroll listened as Former Club President Ross Cleeland listed his incredible football achievements which culminated in him playing his 300th senior football game with the club earlier this year.

While our young side may have struggled on the scoreboard yesterday there were a lot of positives. All players across all grades wore black armbands and took place in a brief ceremony to recognise Veterans who fought for their country and remember those that paid the ultimate price. BARN DANCING REAL GOOD TIME
Who said Tyntynder don't dance? Last night saw between 200-250 members, players and supporters attend the annual Tyntynder whole club "Barn Dance". After dining on ranch beef, finger licking good chicken and apple pie and cream, the "Barn" started a rockin at Pental Island Caravan Park as Maxxy called set after boot scootin' set. Thanks to Kristy, Bree and team for pulling it all together. Yehaaa!

TAKING THE TACKLE - AFL RESPECT & RESPONSIBILITY PROGRAM
Exploring the theme "Caring For Yourself And Looking Out For Your Mates", last Tuesday Tyntynder and Swan Hill U16 & U18 Footballers took part in the second session of the AFL's Respect & Responsibility Program "Taking the Tackle". Facilitated by LSC Andrew Downes the program focuses on raising awareness around the prevalence, causes and impact of violence against women.

Nice to see Tyntynder boys Elliot, Tom, Ryal, Darcy & Jack form part of the MacKillop College senior football team playing in the Haldane Nelson Cup this week. The Cup is played annually against Echuca Catholic College in memory of Haldane "Whitey" Nelson who taught at both schools. Well done boys.

Our own “bush legend” Brad “Charlie” Carroll will reach his milestone 300th Tyntynder Football Club Senior game on Saturday July 26th (vs Kerang at Home). COACHING SEMINAR WITH DAVID PARKIN
Our junior footballers were given an insight into the world of AFL coaching when former Carlton Coach of the Century and 4 time AFL Premiership Coach David Parkin visited Swan Hill tonight. Joined by former St Kilda player Damian Sexton and Echuca United Coach Scott Beattie, this coaching seminar wasn't to be missed. COHUNA RETAIN THE BEYOND BLUE CUP
In it's 5th year now, the annual Beyond Blue Cup played between Tyntynder and Cohuna raises awareness around issues relating to depression and anxiety. Cohuna retained the Cup for the 3rd consecutive year yesterday - looking to get it back in 2015 and hoping for bright sunny and warm conditions! Week in week out our kids roll up in good numbers to play for our club. Their enthusiasm is obvious and their ongoing development is important. We on watch with pride as they take on leadership roles in the club, as they captain a team, run the boundary, run water for the senior footballers, score the netball or bring in the goal padding after the game. BENDIGO GOLD VS NORTH BALLARAT
Swan Hill Residents were treated to a great display of high standard football when Bendigo Gold took on the North Ballarat Roosters for match points on the Alan Garden Reserve last Sunday. A large crowd turned out to cheer on local football exports with the Roosters coming out eventual winners on the day. Thanks to players and match day officials for a great display of quality football.

Coming up against an up and about Lake Boga side Corrie provided constant on field support and encouragement to our young and developing squad. A great day on the park that saw the Dogs take home the 2014 ANZAC CUP, Dave (the Truck) Andrivon take home the Best On Ground ANZAC medal and two more Tyntynder young Bloods take to the field for the first time. LEST WE FORGET - TYNTYNDER HOSTS 2014 ANZAC CUP
Tyntynder and Balranald senior footballers played for the ANZAC CUP when they met on the Alan Garden Rreserve yesterday. Played in front of a good sized crowd and ex service personnel, both clubs paused to reflect on the sacrifices of our fallen soldiers as RSL President Barry Townley performed the ode, Damian Howison played the Last Post and Tully Roberts sang the National Anthem.

TYNTYNDER HOSTS ANZAC CUP
Tyntynder Football Netball Club welcome Balranald FNC to the Alan Garden Reserve tomorrow and look forward to playing for the 2014 ANZAC Cup. Footballers and Netballers from both clubs will wear black arm bands to ensure the memory of those who paid the ultimate sacrifice at war are not forgotten. Our congratulations to Barry Townley who was recently awarded Life Membership of RSL Australia.

By law, smoking is banned within 10 metres of outdoor sporting venues during under 18s events in Victoria from 1 April 2014. Where does the ban apply? Smoking is banned within 10 metres (about two car lengths) of a sporting venue that is an outdoor public place during an organised underage sporting event.

Well done to our junior footballers who enjoyed the first hit out of the season on the(surprisingly)dry playing surface at Woorinen last Saturday. 2014 V/LINE CUP VICTORY FOR CENTRAL MURRAY
Congratulations to Tyntynder's Patrick Crowe who was a member of the Central Murray Division Two side who came out winners in the 2014 V/Line Cup for that Division. Under the direction of Coach Wes Lewis the side went into the Grand Final undefeated. Well done Pat!

TYNTYNDER TRIO NAMED IN PIONEERS U16 SQUAD
Congratulations to Lachlan Carroll, Tom Sala and Kayle Kirby who were recently named in the 2014 Bendigo Pioneers U16 Squad of 25. It's pretty rare that three footballers from the same club make to this level in the same year and these boys have worked extremely hard to get this far. We look forward to following their careers as they progress through the ranks into senior level football.

NIGHT SERIES SUCCESS
The 2014 Tyntynder Night Series has been declared a rip roaring success. With seven teams involved over three weeks, the action was fast paced and a real sense of community prevailed amongst those present. Tyntynder's Chelsea Hargreaves and Luke Brown took part in the Leukaemia Foundations "Shave For A Cure" last week. Congratulations to both for helping to raise awareness amongst the local community and raising an impressive $6,700 towards the cause.

PRESEASON SERIES SETS THE SCENE
The 2014 Pre Season Night Series saw six teams taking part in a "Round Robin" style of practice matches. The series allows teams to play against quality opposition whilst fine tuning player positions and team strategies. The next round of the series is on Friday March 21st with Woorinen facing off against Tooley Manang and the Dogs taking on Lake Boga. See you there!

AROUND THE GROUND AT THE NIGHT SERIES
A large crowd gathered to watch Nullawil, Lake Boga, Woorinen, Tyntynder, Tooleybuc Managatang and the Mallee Eagles take part in the Tyntynder 2014 Pre Season Night Series last night. The oval was in tip top condition, the netball courts newly resurfaced ,weather conditions were perfect and spectators were treated to six games of fast paced football and netball in a lead up to the season proper.

PAT CROWE NAMED IN 2014 SCHOOL BOYS SQUAD
Congratulations to Tyntynder footballer Pat Crowe who has been named in the Central Murray Region Schoolboys squad ahead of the 2014 VLine Cup. The final squad of 24 was finalised last week after a trial game against hopefuls from Bendigo, North Central and Sunraysia. Tyntynder Football Netball Club bids a fond farewell to Simon, Sarah & Rhyla Bunyan as they depart our club for their home town of Hay NSW. TOP MARKS FOR TYNTYNDER GIRLS
Congratulations to talented Tyntynder Netballers Ellen Roberts and Emily Cook who maintained an excellent school / sporting life balance when completing their Year 12 Academic studies at Swan Hill College in 2013. Both girls received scores in the nineties and are looking forward to moving into University mode in the very near future.
