Milestone
Dale Greaves – 250 games
This week Gravy becomes only the 5th Corio player to ever reach 250 games and has been an outstanding loyal servant of our club. Dale came through the ranks of our juniors and was named Captain of the 1991 U-15 team. Dale played his first Senior game in 1996 and throughout the years has fought tooth and nail in every game he has played in gaining him the admiration of all that know him. Dale won the reserve Best and Fairest in 2001 and was Runner-Up in 2005 and was a member of the 2004 Reserve Championship side and 2008 reserve premiership team. Gravy is this year Captain of the reserves and throughout the years has been a permanent fixture at the bar for every function and has always been happy to help the club with any volunteer work asked of him. The CCSC would like to thank Dale for his Loyalty to the club and wish him all the best for this fantastic milestone.

Volunteers
This week is our new Netball co-ordinators, Mandi Szulc, Kristie Marsh, and Jamie Mathieson who have all taken on the new roles this season. Its takes a huge amount of work to run any section let alone one as big as the Netball section which the girls have been able to achieve putting in countless volunteer hours every week. The Netball section has always been ran well and the girls have been able to maintain the high standard again this year. Their efforts are reflected on the quality netball our club has been able to provide our community and our club would like to thank the girls for their ongoing volunteer work.

Emotional Farewell
Emotional scenes took place at last weeks home game against Winchelsea as the club farewelled little U-10 player Connor Papazoglou who tragically passed away last week after attempting a life saving liver transplant. Connors friends and teammates from the little league all held balloons and walked through the guard of honour made up of Senior, Reserve, Netball and Committee members from our club. Tears flowed freely as Connor’s U-10 and U-12 teammates gathered in a huddle in the centre of the ground and passionately sung the clubs theme song before releasing all the balloons into the air. It was a great gesture and a fitting farewell for our spirited little U-10 player. RIP Connor.
Fundraiser Night – Being held at the club this Friday at 7pm. Cookware is being sold at the club with a chef giving cooking displays throughout the evening. 10% of profits are going to the Papazoglou family. $20 entry with a silent auction and a lucky door prize. Welcome Back
Great to have Nevada and Luke back after their harrowing ordeal being quarantined in a Malaysian hospital after trying to catch a connecting flight in Kuala Lumper coming back from Cambodia. A swine flu saga were sure the whole family will never forget and we don’t think Luke will eat rice and vegetables ever again.

A huge week coming up with the season on the line after the win last week put us only 1 game out of the final 5. But with only 7 games remaining and so many sides with a chance of making finals every game will count from this week on. Regular Best Player Huhnny doesn’t know how to play a bad game after another performance of dour defence work last week. Great to see Rick and Bazza both again in the best players as the side needs these 2 at their best to give us a chance against dangerous Bannockburn. Big Chad (Spencer) back from injury adds a much needed dynamic to our forward line and booted 4 goals and took some strong marks. Another much needed added dynamic are in form duo Hank and Shell who provide speed and other running options which is were we fell short last season. On paper the side this week will be awesome but the team will need to take that paper form into the game this week in the most important hitout for the season.
Reserves Vs Winchelsea at home Corio 29-21-195 to 3-2-20
Goals: Shaun Gundry 7, Troy Feldman 6, Matthew Cullen 4, Mark Harvey 3, John Bartolo 3, Michael Baumann 2, Geoff Mitchell, Andrew Williams, Travis Wilson, Daryle Smith
Best: Michael Baumann, John Bartolo, Matthew Cullen, Trent Hogan, Shaun Gundry, Troy Feldman
The reserves will have a tough hitout this week and will be a definite gauge on where the side is at, as it has not been tested for a couple of months. On paper the side is ridiculously good but cannot just go through the motions this week as Bannockburn in the past have found ways to trouble equally good reserve sides. Added incentive this week is the milestone of 250 gamer Dale Greaves who im sure the side will want to play good for. Last week Bowy once again did as he pleased as did veterans JB, Mull and Feldy. Trent continues to play well but still wants to know the number of the truck that cleaned him up backing back to mark last week. Mr Bean booted 7 and you could throw a blanket around another heap pf good players from last weeks game. .
U\18 Vs Winchelsea at home Corio 21-28-154 to 1-0-6
Goals: Dylan Taylor 6, Daniel Scott 4, Steven Grooby 3, Harley Hunter 2, Ryan Loone Garcia 2, Coby Zorkau 2, Ash Cullen, Chad Vanderlee
Best: Ryan Loone Garcia, Josh Cleary, Rhys Marshall, Dylan Taylor, Coby Zorkau, Daniel Scott
A big win last week but will be a very important game for the boys as the coming weeks will decide who picks up the very important double chance come finals. There are plenty of players in form at the moment but once again they will need to continue this to capitalize on games they need to win.
U\16 V South Barwon 2 Corio 13-7-85 to 10-7-67
Goals: Dylan Otoole 3, Jake Manning 3, AJ Graham 2, Jesse Edwards 2, Peter Abbott, Corey Otoole, Jackson Walton
Best: Kuribino Angok, Cody Shelley, Corey Otoole, Dylan Riseley, Dylan Otoole, Peter Abbott
